Analyzing Galvanized Steel Cost

One of the most important issue for the for plan maintenance engineers and managers is how to overcome the cost of investment in corrosion protection system. The possible answers range from painting, hot dip galvanizing or using protective coatings against corrosion. All these process not only involve performance evaluation but also initial and life cycle cost analysis.  Mostly zinc metals are used to hot dip galvanize steel for more than 250 years, providing strong protection against corrosion in many environments for 50-70 years and its successfully being used in Industrial galvanized steel beams to prevent them from corrosion.

The imperial Data collected from the field performance of hot dip galvanized steel from 1940 to 1980 in industrial and manufacturing settings indicate that zinc prevents corrosion of base steel to be used for Columns, handrail, gratings, and expended metals because there are no maintenance cost. Initially it was thought that hot dip galvanizing steel is more expensive than other systems in protecting from corrosion but when it was used practically engineers came to know it is the one cost effective method of preventing metals from getting rusty.
